Retired educator Ms. Angela Crimm read " Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister to Lauren Harrison’s Kindergarten Bearcats. "Rainbow Fish" has theme of compassion, and Ms. Crimm explained sympathy, empathy and compassion to the class before reading the book. Compassion is the word of the month for December at Forest Elementary School. Ms. Crimm is one of Forest Elementary School's Bearcat Buddies. All of the FES 3rd-Grade Bearcats performed beautifully this morning for the Thanksgiving musical! The star of the show was the Super Turkey (Jonathan Turner). If you all were able to join us in the auditorium, you all are probably still singing "Super-Turkey" in your minds! Karysen Jones played the part of Mama Turkey, and Bradley Agustin Molina played the part of Papa Turkey. Armarion Neely appeared as the farmer who tried, but he failed to catch that Super Turkey in his net! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Shout-out to Laila Carter and Paislie Reid who recently showed their livestock in the Mississippi State Fair. Laila is pictured with Stella, a commercial meat goat. They brought home a 2nd place ribbon in showmanship from the eight-year olds' class, and they won a 5th place ribbon in another class! Laila's Mimi and FMSD School Board member Chantelle Herchenhahn posed for a picture with the duo. Laila and her bovine, June Carter, walked away with a 4th place ribbon in the European heifers' class. Bearcat Paislie Reid showed her Brahman heifer, Penny. They won in their division, made it into the Grand Championship, and they won 4th place at the fair. In the future, Laila wants to be a nurse or a teacher, and Paislie wants to be a STEM teacher.
